My husband, Tristan, and I recently took a little weekend trip down to Oceanside, CA  to visit his cousin and her family. We enjoyed yummy home cooked meals and chasing the kids in the backyard. For this short getaway I partnered with TravelCross luggage to share some tips on packing light in a small carry-on suitcase. I will admit packing light is not always my forte. I am known to bring several overflowing bags to make sure I have enough options ( a girl’s gotta have shoe options, am I right?!). But this time, I really challenged myself to pack light – it was my first time meeting Tristan’s cousin and I didn’t want her to think we were moving in! 🙂 One of the best tips for packing light is to stick to neutral colors and minimal patterns. Try to bring denim or black pants that can go with…

Have you ever visited the stunning city of Vancouver, British Columbia? If your answer to that question is no, then keep reading and start booking your tickets! I may a little biased because this is the city where I was born 😉  but every single time people hear that I moved away when I was 10 years old, they always ask, “why would you leave such a beautiful city?!” Even though I miss it sometimes, I am very happy with where my family’s path took us; and now I can visit whenever! My husband, Tristan, and I went for a short weekend getaway this summer and had the best time! I loved getting to show him my favorite Vancouver B.C. things to do! 1. Jericho Beach Jericho Beach! We could have spent a month just at this beach! It was one of my favorites to come play at as a child…

I am excited to be writing my first “studio to street” post for you all! I have been wanting to do some transitional outfit ideas that can take you from different workout classes to street activities. I hope they are fun and helpful! For this look, I have partnered with JORD Watches to show how a stylish watch can elevate your street look! I am a nature loving girl, so the organic look of this hand-finished wood watch is perfect for me and reminds me of the outdoors! Studio Look: Sports Bra or Tank with Leggings For your studio outfit, start with your basic activewear pieces. Here I opted for a simple, black sports bra and leggings combo for a yoga class. It’s nice to wear tighter, more form fitting pieces for yoga classes so everything stays in place while doing bends and down-dogs. You could also try patterned leggings…

Hello! I have decided to add a Natural Beauty section to my blog, to give you all recommendations of natural skincare and makeup products that I use and love. This is a very important topic to me, as a holistic approach to a healthy and balanced lifestyle. If I am going to spend the time, money, and energy to eat clean, organic foods and exercise regularly to take care of my body, why would I slather on a bunch of chemicals?! Luckily, there are more and more amazing, completely PURE and natural beauty brands emerging all the time! So it has become easier to find EFFECTIVE natural skincare. Reading labels is a must, because many products can be labeled as “natural” but contain harmful ingredients (even at the bottom of the ingredients list) that can be carcinogenic or hormone disrupters. I have discovered a great app called Think Dirty where…

My husband, Tristan, and I have been enjoying this yummy Asian style avocado noodle bowl as an easy and nutritious summer lunch or dinner! It is gluten free and dairy free as well so it’s accommodating for more people with specific dietary needs. Which means there’s more of you who can enjoy it! Yay! Benefits of Avocado: I added avocado because for one, they are one of my favorite foods, and also for their added health benefits. They are rich in heart healthy omega-6 fats which are excellent for hair, skin, and nails. Their healthy fats are also good for long-term energy. Avocados have several vitamins and minerals naturally occurring in them which makes them extremely nutrient dense. They are such a great, easy food to throw on top of salads and sandwiches throughout the summer to make them more filling and to get these extra fats and nutrients. Alright,…

Silver Icing “Eh Team” Leggings Some of you may know that my original hometown is Vancouver, Canada. I still have family and friends in different parts of Canada and I am a duel citizen. My family goes back to visit occasionally but we don’t frequent Vancouver as much as I would like. I have the fondest memories growing up in the Kitsilano or “Kits” neighborhood of Vancouver and taking daily walks along the seawall in Stanley Park or to Granville Island Marketplace to feed the pigeons (I can still remember the smell of that place so distinctly- whenever it comes to me, tons of good memories come flooding over me). As a kid, it was so much fun to watch the master kite fliers down by the marina and the amazing sand castle competitions in the summertime. Vancouver is a unique city in my opinion- offering amazing city life as…

Hi guys! I wanted to do a little round up of 4 of my favorite functional and cute workout tanks for women! So keep scrolling and I hope you see something you like 🙂 Similar Top: Here 1. Akrovita Top I recently purchased this top from the brand Akrovita, which I found on Instagram, and it has quickly become one of my favorite workout tops! It has a silky feel and is super lightweight which makes it nice and breathable for sweaty workouts. I have just started going to Soul Sweat dance classes and it’s the best, most fun way to sweat! I love the open back cutout to show off your strappy sports bra and to get some extra air ventilation. Definitely a new favorite! Prana Similar Tops: Here and Here and Here Love This One 2. Prana Top I don’t own a ton of patterned clothes, but I just loved these…

Hi Friends! I have been loving my morning green smoothies and wanted to share one of my favorite recipes with you! It’s such a nice way to start your day because they are light, refreshing, cleansing, detoxifying, and super nutritive. I have personally been focusing on healing and nourishing my digestion, which is why this recipe includes lots of digestive tonic plants. The ginger, turmeric, and aloe are excellent for the digestive tract because they soothe inflammation and indigestion. I suggest only using the gel of the aloe and not the whole leaf, because the leaf has laxative affects. The burdock root is a blood and liver cleanser, the celery is good for boosting hydrochloric acid production which helps break down food in your stomach. Greens contain fiber and chlorophyll which help clean the digestive tract and lemon juice is a great whole body cleanser. The mint, berries, and lime…

Leggings: Zella Nordstrom (old) similar, similar, love these too | Top: Lululemon (old) similar, similar | Flip Flops: Havaianas I recently picked up these Zella leggings from Nordstrom and am loving them! They are the first piece of clothing I’ve tried from the Zella brand and they do not disappoint. Zella is an in-house Nordstrom brand, so they can only be found there or at Nordstrom Rack, but with Nordstrom’s easy FREE shipping, I’m ok with it! I love that the leggings are high waisted (no muffin top please!) and their light color and pattern are perfect for spring and summer! I have so many black pairs of leggings, so I wanted to mix it up a bit and these are fun and different without being too crazy 🙂 They have a good fitted feel and stay in place for workouts, yoga, hiking, etc. Also, the mesh detailing makes them very breathable…

In this post I have put together some of my favorite exercises and yoga poses to strengthen your arms! It’s important to target different areas of the body to make sure you are working all your muscle groups (and it’s a good way to mix up your workouts!). I went to a local playground to do these arm exercises which was really fun and different! If you are a mom going to playgrounds with your kids or if you just want a change in your exercise routine, I suggest hopping over to a local park to workout. It’s so nice to be outside in the fresh air as you exercise! You also don’t need to bring any equipment which makes it easier. So here is an arm workout without weights: 1. Tricep Dip  This one is pretty self explanatory, but find a bench and hold yourself up by your arms,…
