Hi Friends! I have been loving my morning green smoothies and wanted to share one of my favorite recipes with you! It’s such a nice way to start your day because they are light, refreshing, cleansing, detoxifying, and super nutritive. I have personally been focusing on healing and nourishing my digestion, which is why this recipe includes lots of digestive tonic plants. The ginger, turmeric, and aloe are excellent for the digestive tract because they soothe inflammation and indigestion. I suggest only using the gel of the aloe and not the whole leaf, because the leaf has laxative affects. The burdock root is a blood and liver cleanser, the celery is good for boosting hydrochloric acid production which helps break down food in your stomach. Greens contain fiber and chlorophyll which help clean the digestive tract and lemon juice is a great whole body cleanser. The mint, berries, and lime…

In this post I have put together some of my favorite exercises and yoga poses to strengthen your arms! It’s important to target different areas of the body to make sure you are working all your muscle groups (and it’s a good way to mix up your workouts!). I went to a local playground to do these arm exercises which was really fun and different! If you are a mom going to playgrounds with your kids or if you just want a change in your exercise routine, I suggest hopping over to a local park to workout. It’s so nice to be outside in the fresh air as you exercise! You also don’t need to bring any equipment which makes it easier. So here is an arm workout without weights: 1. Tricep Dip  This one is pretty self explanatory, but find a bench and hold yourself up by your arms,…

Hi friends! I have decided to do a little series on exercises and stretches for different parts of the body that are simple yet effective. Today I am focusing on the hips. Many people, including myself, are quite stiff in their hips and it’s an important area of the body to strengthen and increase flexibility. When we are stiff, anywhere in our bodies, it becomes easier to injure ourselves. When muscles and tendons are tight, then they can more easily cause an injury even just from lifting heavy furniture or jumping into an intense workout, exercise, or sport. So it is very important to open and stretch out all the different areas of the body. You don’t necessarily have to stretch out every single muscle group everyday – maybe focus on an area per day or try a yoga sequence that targets most areas of the body. These  stretches below…

Top : Similar Here and Here,  Love this one, on sale, Shorts: Similar Here and Here, Love this romper, on sale If you’ve read some of my other posts, such as My Travel Bucket List, then you know how much I love the ocean and beach! I grew up by the beach, in Vancouver Canada, until I was 10 years old and my family would walk to the beach almost everyday! We took walks along the Stanley Park seawall, had picnics in the sand, splashed in the (freezing) waves, and watched people play beach volleyball. I could never get tired of listening to the waves crash against the shore. Just sitting, listening, and watching the waves feels like a form of meditation to me (the easiest!). The sea gives me a sense of freedom, expansion, and power that I haven’t found anywhere else in Nature. While my husband, Tristan, and I…

Modified Plank / Push-Up – Works arms and abs  Hey Friends! We are now a few months into the new year and I am proud to say that I have been sticking to my fitness goal of working out 3-4 times per week! Honestly, in the past I had not kept a workout rhythm. I would dabble in different exercises and try different studios (which is still fun to mix things up!), but I wasn’t consistent. I finally wondered to myself, “I take the time to eat clean and healthy and incorporate superfoods and herbs into my diet, but why can’t I exercise regularly? Something has to change!” And it has! My body and mind feel so much better after a workout, even if it’s just a quick one. While I am exercising my mind is so focused on getting through a movement or posture, that I am not thinking…

Cambria~ My husband, Tristan, and I started out our California trip by driving from LA up to a quaint little town called Cambria. It was about a 4 hour drive, but we didn’t mind since we were driving along the beautiful coast! We stopped in Santa Barbara for our favorite veggie burritos from El Sitio. They are seriously the best, so if you are ever in the area, you must give them a try! We stayed at the Cambria Beach Lodge which was literally right along this boardwalk along the water! The sound of the ocean waves gently lulled us to sleep each night. So peaceful! Every morning we would take a walk along the boardwalk with a cup of hot tea in hand. This hotel was super cute with great boho beach vibes in their decor. Lots of white and turquoise which are my favorite colors 🙂 Cambria is…

Do you ever find yourself running late in the morning but you still need a healthy breakfast to start out the day? Well I sure do. When I have the time to cook eggs and veggies (and bacon of course!) then by all means, I enjoy it! But when I need a quick and easy breakfast, I turn to superfood smoothies. There’s lots of ways you can mix up your smoothie recipes and I am going to share one of my current favorite superfood smoothie recipe with you! For more tasty superfood smoothie recipes, check out my friend, Rae’s blog Nothing Needs To Be Done where she  shares nourishing and delicious recipes, self love inspiration, and much more! Superfood Smoothie Recipe My hubby and I usually make smoothies together, but for simplicity this recipe is for 1 serving. INGREDIENTS: 1 cup organic frozen tropical fruit mix (my fav!) or frozen peaches 1…

Valentine’s Day is almost here and in the spirit of love, I would like to share some of the ways that I have learned to show myself love. Self esteem exercises aren’t always easy for us to do, but they are so important, and once you figure out your favorite ways to show yourself love, it feels so good! There are endless things that you can do to care for yourself, you just have to find the things that bring you the most joy! Here is my list of self love tips: Paint your nails (while listening to your favorite music) or get your nails done at a salon. It feels so glamorous but doesn’t break the bank. Buy yourself little gifts, like fresh flowers, chocolate, or a little piece of jewelry. Take a bath with candles, dried rose petals, bath salts, and music. So relaxing on a cold…

Hi Friends! As my family and close friends could tell you, I have an innate desire to travel, explore, and adventure! I have been lucky enough to have visited several amazing places in my life so far and can’t wait to visit more! These are my current bucket list ideas, but it is ever-growing: 1. Bali~ I remember a dear family friend, who lived in Indonesia for some time while I was a child, coming to visit us and bringing me and my sister the most ornate gifts from this magical looking land. Necklaces with turquoise and bright red stones, so vibrant and alive with color and culture. And let’s not forget about the pristine beaches and terraced green rice paddies. 2. Fiji~ This has always sounded like a far-away dreamy place. I imagine myself (and my sweet husband of course) lounging on the beach with pina coladas all day! 3.…

It’s that time of year again~ time to set goals and resolutions for the New Year ahead! I feel like this can be exciting and challenging at the same time. To be honest, I haven’t always been the best at journaling  about my goals and then really remembering to hold myself accountable throughout the year. But I’m hoping this year will be different! My husband and I are writing down our goals together and will keep each other accountable! Here is my New Year goals list: 1. Maintain a Consistent Fitness Routine~ I have  liked dabbling in different workouts throughout the years, but this year I want to maintain a regular routine. I will still mix things up though! My favorites are yoga, hiking, barre classes, and floor routines at home (there’s some great Youtube fitness channels!). My goal is to do a workout 3-5 days a week. 2. Move to…
