Natural Skincare Brands

Hello! I have decided to add a Natural Beauty section to my blog, to give you all recommendations of natural skincare and makeup products that I use and love. This is a very important topic to me, as a holistic approach to a healthy and balanced lifestyle. If I am going to spend the time, money, and energy to eat clean, organic foods and exercise regularly to take care of my body, why would I slather on a bunch of chemicals?! Luckily, there are more and more amazing, completely PURE and natural beauty brands emerging all the time! So it has become easier to find EFFECTIVE natural skincare. Reading labels is a must, because many products can be labeled as “natural” but contain harmful ingredients (even at the bottom of the ingredients list) that can be carcinogenic or hormone disrupters. I have discovered a great app called Think Dirty where you can scan products or type in product company names and the app will give it a score between 0-10 (7-10 meaning pretty dirty/harmful). It gives descriptions of what the scores mean and which ingredients are harmful. This is a very helpful tool when shopping for new products! Ok, let’s get on to my daily natural skincare routine! I tend to have more oily, acne prone skin and these products have been working really well for me!

Trilogy Skincare Reviews

  1. Trilogy Gentle Face Exfoliant

I discovered the Trilogy line in the wintertime and immediately fell in love with their products and company values. They are New Zealand’s #1 skincare brand! They use high quality organic oils and focus on sustainable, ethical practices. You can read more about their philosophy here. They are most known for their organic rosehip oil which you will find in most of their products. This gentle, yet effective exfoliating cleanser contains rosehip, jojoba, and camellia. It refines the skin, leaving it clear and glowing. I use it in the morning in the shower. It feels so good!

Avenue Thermal Spring Water

2. Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray

This is a French company with their signature Thermal Spring Water at the heart of their brand. This water is packed with sea-spray rich in mineral salts, trace elements, and an ancient microorganism called “Aqua.Dolomiae”. Clinical studies have proven it’s soothing and calming effects on the skin (especially super sensitive skin). Its low mineral content makes it extremely softening for the skin. You can read more about it here. I use the spray morning and night after washing my face. It has so many uses: travel, after a workout, after sun exposure, after shaving…the list goes on and on! You can’t go wrong with this mist – it feels divine!

Andalou Naturals Review

3. Andalou Naturals Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk

Let me start by saying when you smell this, you are going to want to eat it! This cleanser smells so delicious – like fresh apricot jam! It’s super affordable and non-GMO, cruelty-free, gluten free certified, and 98% nature derived. Andalou is known for using “fruit stem cell science” to formulate their products. The skin-friendly probiotics and nourishing oils in this cleanser gently remove makeup and impurities, leaving the skin fresh, soft, and glowing. Yes please! I would also like to try this cleanser for more oily prone skin. I use the Apricot Probiotic cleanser at night before bed and follow with the Spring Water spray and the Rosehip oil below.

Trilogy Skincare

4. Trilogy Rosehip Oil Light Blend

Another Trilogy brand favorite! This is a balancing oil to help regulate oil production (which is good for me since my skin tends to be oily), improves skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, and promotes radiant, healthy skin! It has a light feel but is deeply nourishing. I use this morning and evening after cleansing and spraying with the Avene spring water. It gives my skin a silky smooth feel without being heavy or greasy and it helps my makeup go on easily!
