As the cold weather rolls into the Rocky Mountains it can be tricky to dress warm and also look stylish. There’s lots of great winter athleisure pieces that are stylish and warm though! Here’s my top 5 staples:

Big blanket scarves are always a great way to go! They are so versatile and can be wrapped in many different ways to keep you warm. As their name implies, they also make great little blankets for situations such as airplanes and movie theaters ( I almost always bring one to the movies with me to stay cozy!).

Flannel shirts are also a wonderful, cozy staple to have in your wardrobe. They go well with leggings or skinny jeans and can also be wrapped around the waist to add some style detail when it’s not as chilly out. They come in so many different colors and patterns these days too! Lots of options out there! This one is from Athleta and I love it!

Boots are my preference on colder days because they  help keep my ankles warmer (and I wear thicker socks with them). If it isn’t snowy outside, then leather boots are a great option. On snowy days I prefer my furry Sorel boots!

Thicker fabric leggings are nice for cool days to stay comfy and warm! There are fleece lined ones that are super soft 🙂 Wool leggings are also another good option. Leggings are easy to pair with flannel shirts too (and you can get long ones to cover your bottom if you wish).

Warm winter coats are of course a must! Here I opted for this charcoal wool coat from Banana Republic. But on insanely cold days (like today- 8 degrees!) then a down coat, preferably longer length, is optimal! Stay tuned to see my new down coat soon!

I hope these are helpful tips! I would love to hear your favorite ways to stay warm and stylish in the winter! What are your favorite winter athleisure pieces?
